Roles
Organizers
Organizers run the conference: they configure the two services, invite people, watch progress, and make decisions. SmartChair gives the organizer side several named roles with different scopes.
The organizer roles
| Role | Scope |
|---|---|
| Chair | Full authority over every setting and every service of the conference, including applying for the online payment service and creating other organizer accounts. |
| Co-Chair | Same working scope as the Chair; a second (or third) pair of hands with full access. |
| PC Chair | The program-committee side: paper submission, review configuration, reviewer management, assignment, and decisions. |
| LC Chair | The local-committee side: registration, participants, payments, and on-site matters. |
| Associate Editor | A delegated reviewer-manager for a subset of papers — collects reviews and recommends decisions. |
Reviewers — PC Member and Referee — are invited by organizers specifically to review papers; they are part of the review workflow rather than conference administration, and are described on the Submission, bidding & review page.
What organizers configure
- Conference registration — registration types and periods, fees and early-bird pricing, receipts, and the online payment service.
- Paper submission — submission mode and deadlines, research areas, the submission form, and the whole review pipeline.
- Program — the time schedule, rooms, sessions, and mini-symposia.
- Communication & site — the conference website, the e-mail center, and the shared file center.
Everything is per-conference
An organizer role applies to one conference only. Organizing several conferences means holding a role in each — all reachable from the same My Conferences portal.
