Getting started

What is SmartChair

SmartChair runs an academic conference around two core services — conference registration and paper submission — used by two kinds of people: the organizers who run the conference, and the participants who register and submit.

One account, many conferences

The same email address can be an organizer of one conference and simply a participant in another. Each conference in SmartChair is completely independent — your role, your papers, and your reviews always belong to whichever conference you're currently in.

One account covers both.

Reviewers — PC Member and Referee — are invited by organizers specifically to review papers. They are described in full on the Submission, bidding & review page.

The two services

Conference registration — fees, early-bird pricing, receipts, and online payment. Organizers set it up once; each participant completes it once.

Paper submission — from a submitted file to a decision: bidding, assignment, review, and discussion. The full flow and every reviewer role are described on one dedicated page.

Also in SmartChair

  • Website, mail & files — a conference website builder, an e-mail center, and a shared file center.
