Getting started

One account, many conferences

A SmartChair account is an email address. Conferences come and go; the account stays, and can hold a different role in each conference it touches.

How accounts and conferences relate

Every conference in SmartChair is identified by a short code (such as ICCM2026) and is fully independent from every other conference: its registrations, papers, reviews, payments, and settings are its own. Nothing carries over between conferences automatically.

Your account connects to a conference through a role: organizer roles (Chair, Co-Chair, PC Chair, LC Chair, Associate Editor), reviewer roles (PC Member, Referee), or simply participant. The same account may hold different roles in different conferences — and more than one role in the same conference.

The My Conferences portal

After signing in you land on My Conferences, which lists every conference your account has a role in, with its title and your role. You can filter by running or finished conferences, switch into any of them, and — if you are about to organize a new event — create a new conference from the same page.

Language follows you

The interface language follows your profile and each conference's own language setting, so a Japanese conference can present Japanese pages to its participants while your other conferences stay in English or Chinese.

Signing in

One email address and password sign you into everything. Password reset is self-service by email. If you received an invitation (for example as a reviewer), following the invitation link attaches the new role to your existing account — or creates the account if you are new.
