The National Conference on Marketing (NCMXISS) 2015 is being organised by Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) Ranchi, India with the objective of fostering and increasing research activities in the state of Jharkhand. The specific objectives of the conference are: 1. To provide a platform where Academics, Corporate and Research Scholars can discuss emerging issues in the area of Marketing 2. To enhance the scope of Academic Industry interface by providing networking opportunities 3. To provide a platform for scholars to discuss and fraternize with the Academics and the Corporate Besides the above, the Conference also aims to provide an opportunity to the academics and the corporate to get an exposure to the state of Jharkhand. Jharkhand provides a natural laboratory where extreme contrasts can be witnessed side by side. Mega Industries co-exist with extreme poverty; Urbanisation co-exists with ethic tribal diversity almost at Neolithic levels. This provides the marketer a unique opportunity to study the challenges of marketing and to rethink the perspective of marketing from different angles. It is hoped that the conference will be able to create a bridge between the existing marketing thoughts and paradigms and the emerging social aspects.
