In this talk, by using Seshadri constants for subschemes, we establish a second main theorem of Nevanlinna theory for holomorphic curves intersecting closed subschemes in (weak) subgeneral position. We also give the corresponding Schmidt's subspace theorem in Diophantine approximation.
