A new topology preserving triangular remeshing algorithm is presented in this paper. Two criterions are adopted for determining a new site insertion: one is area and normal parameters which are combined to define new error metric; the other is the topology condition of restricted Voronoi cell of each site. While new sites are inserted, a flooding based remeshing algorithm is called to optimize the location of all sites and achieve the remeshing results dynamically. Experimental results show that the new algorithm can preserve the topology of input mesh efficiently and get remeshing results with good quality.
